Today's post is a little different to my previous ones.
The weekend of Friday 20th- Sunday 22nd I went to Canvey Island, Essex. It was for a Catholic retreat, to prepare me for my confirmation. I'm a Catholic, so as a teenager, we make our confirmation. Confirmation is when you take your faith into your own hands and you confirm your faith and promises you parents made at baptism.
I thought the trip was going to be sitting round a campfire singing kum-by-ah, and being all holy with lots of priests and nuns. However, it was the total opposite. The staff ranged from 18-23 and they were all extremely friendly.
I am not going to go into detail about my trip because it may bore a lot of you. However, the activities were all team building and building relationships with God and your team members. I haven't come out of the retreat singing and praising the Lord, because I know and have learnt that is not what you have to do to be forgiven or loved by God. You only to proclaim and promise your faith and the Lord will love, see? This is already getting cheesy!
Anyways, I had a really good experience and I recommend it to any Catholic schools or ex-Catholics who would like to renew their faith, because I have learnt a lot of new things on the retreat.
Thank you :)
