Confidence

Confidence.

Noun

1. The feeling or belief that one can rely on someone or something; firm trust
2. The state of feeling certain about the truth of something

Something every human being has right? Wrong. A lot of people out there, and maybe one or two humans reading this now are not confident, in themselves or just in general. As you can see from the above definition, confidence means trust or feeling certain about something. Hopefully this post will help at least one person feel better for themselves.

BODY CONFIDENCE

Dove models

Victoria Secret models

What image do you prefer? Personally, I think the top one is prettier than the bottom. The women in the first picture are confident in themselves, they feel pretty enough not to be air brushed. They don't have thigh gaps and they are not the slimmest women in the world. Compare the top picture with the bottom picture. Yes, the girls in the bottom picture are pretty and yes they're slim, but does it make them confident?

My answer to that question is no. they have been airbrushed to make them look slimmer, they have been given bigger thigh gaps and have been tanned up. Personally, I think it doesn't look nice one bit. They look false and are a bad influence on children.

I believe that models on bags, billboards etc. should all be un-airbrushed and natural, just like the top photo.

This is my opinion, I don't want you to change your view on life or models, I just believe that magazines and companies should calm down the airbrushing.

I also think that 'Little Things' by One Direction relates a lot to this topic - please listen to it and listen to the lyrics carefully. I am listening to it right now, as I write this and I this topic and the song are a match made in heaven.

PERFORMING/STAGE CONFIDENCE

If you feel nervous or embarrassed about getting up in drama class or at a school performance - don't be. Everyone in the class or everyone part of the performance, has to do the same thing as you. Everyone is a team and you're all working together, don't feel like you're an outsider.

If you're in class and you feel embarrassed to get up - don't. Jump up there and show everyone what you have to offer. If you feel like you're going to be teased about how much effort you put into your performance - don't. Your classmates should be proud to have someone as good as you in their class. if you don't try your hardest that will effect your grades and it will effect how the teacher thinks of you. Don't let silly people effect your education

Don't let ANYONE make you feel bad or un-worthy because YOU are amazing.
